Work travails

The work situation is a little painful right now. I was up for a job that would be perfect for me, would have paid me enough to get rid of my debt quickly and save plenty for the Dallas Institute of Arts, but despite being qualified for the job I was turned down due to lack of professional experience. Another job I was up for paid very little, yet gave me experience in the computer field (which is what I needed for the first job, ironically), but despite the fact that they thought I was perfect for the job, they couldn't hire me because it was a student assistant position and I'm graduating in May. So, I'm still not making enough to pay the bills. As usual, I've set up another auction for that purpose. I'm trying to hold off selling my real favorites (like Pixar, Miyazaki, and Futurama), but unless something changes soon those may be in my next auction. :/

A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step

Latest updates on my goal: All signs point to me graduating this semester (yay!). I'm having some difficulty with one class, but I think I can work that out with the professor. We'll see. Some of the other steps on my journey aren't quite working out so well. One, while I do have a job now (working at a day care), it's not enough hours for me to pay the bills. I may get a position as a student assistant, which would be helpful, but it doesn't pay a lot. Thankfully I did get a contractual tech job this week, though I'll probably only get about $60 from that (I "work" for a company called Exetemps that gets me short contract jobs now and then. Pays pretty well, but they rarely ever call me, so poot.) I'm gearing up for a second Ebay auction before the end of the month. I'm also considering other ways of getting some cash. I'm wondering how possible it is for me to run my own server, and if anyone would pay be for web space if I did? On the art front, I've really been lax about practicing. Watching the Incredibles (and the extras that go with it) has renewed my fire to improve myself, though. I really wish I could start going to art school right away; having instructors and especially fellow students always makes it easier for me to learn and keep myself on task. It's not even about the quality of the instructor - just having other people with me makes it easier. Just one of my quirks.

Also, I have to say I love Brad Bird. Included in my goal is my hope that I one day get to work with him. He is my hero.
