My useless partner is going to be out of state for the entire Thanksgiving weekend starting Wednesday. Now I can actually get some work done without him constantly asking me how our project works.

I've been watching Star Trek: TNG. It's been good, but all of a sudden it's gotten really good. I'm around the middle of season 3 and jeebus, this show is starting to blow me away.
For some context, some episodes that were really awesome recently:
-Q becomes human (fucking hilarious)
-The Enterprise encounters a previous Enterprise via wormhole, time mind-fuckery ensues (plus some sad stuff with Tasha )
-Data creates a child (fucking sad as fuck fuck FUCK)

The beard was the beginning of season 2 right? Cause I think the show is finally hitting its stride in season 3.

Well if you go to the 'growing the beard' link I offered, it presents a number of reasons as to why STTNG got better around season three. I think the most convincing one is that Gene Roddenberry took less of an active role in the show. Though there was also a head writer change between seasons 2 and 3.

Last minute work on another project paid off. My partner and I got an audio modulator working, but since we'd blown up a capacitor, he was absolutely against plugging it into his computer's speaker jack to play something, even though I proved it wouldn't cause any damage. I hooked mine up and it worked! It even has hardwired volume, bass, and treble control. One class not failed, two to go.
