I think your ability to like that film is directly related to how many real-life addicts you know. I found it to be INCREDIBLY heavy-handed and unrealistic. I've seen them get fat, lose friends, and yes, even occasionally die, but no one will shoot into the same vein until their arm falls off, they just go for other veins, and certainly, there's no such thing as the magic evil businessman world. That's just silly.
